For over a decade, Mr. Glymph has been recognized as a pioneer in the application of advanced computer technologies to the building design and construction process. In practice, these methods have been deeply integrated within Gehry's design process. He has lectured on or taught these innovative processes at architectural and engineering schools including MIT, Penn State, Stanford, Yale, Columbia University, Harvard, and Oxford and at research and professional organizations including IBM's Rockwell Research Institute, The Media Lab, the American Institute of Architects, Architectural League of NY, Civil Engineering Research Foundation, the Design Build Association, and Acadia. Prior to joining Gehry's firm, Mr. Glymph resided and worked in Seattle, Washington where his efforts won him regional and national awards for design and technical excellence. Since joining Gehry Partners in 1989, he has worked closely with Mr. Gehry projects in Europe and the United States that have received international acclaim for their unique design and innovative project delivery processes. Mr. Glymph develops and encourages special relationships between architects, engineers, craftsmen, fabricators and builders, characterized by close design collaboration the the technical level and facilitated by the unique application of computer technologies. Mr. Glymph earned his architectural degree from the School of Architecture at Miami University, Oxford, Ohio, graduating in 1973. He is a member of the Corporate Advisory Board (CAB) of the Civil Engineering Research Foundation, and a member of the California AIA / AEC Integration Steering Committee. His achievements have been recognized by the engineering community, most recently earning him the AISC Special Achievement Award (2002). In 1997, he was made a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects for pioneering new processes in the design and construction industries "that may change the way we work in the future."
