Dennis Neeley

Dennis Neeley has multiple experiences all focused upon the practice and automation of the architectural, engineering, construction and real estate professions. He has started and run several successful companies in these areas. He was the contributing editor of CADence magazine for many years, has written two books on CAD and has taught at UC Berkeley and Carnegie Mellon. He is credited with being the driving force in bringing CAD to the architectural professions with the invention of AutoCAD AEC Architectural and Mechanical. He founded ASG that merged with Softdesk, the companies created over 30 CAD applications prior to being purchased by Autodesk. Other innovations have included manufacturers and owner information on cd-rom and the Internet for companies such as Kohler, Corian, Weyerhaeuser Doors, McDonald's, Chevron, Hilton and others. In 1999 Neeley's company Viscomm (purchased by Bricsnet) invented Building Center an Internet based software suite of applications for the management of real estate information. Building Center customers include Washington Mutual, American Express, Deutsche Bank and other major companies worldwide.
In October 2003 Neeley retired from the technology business and formed a new company, Design-Integration concentrating on the private practice of architecture and consulting in the automation of design, product information, construction and real estate operations. In 2004 he un-retired and joined Tectonic Network to head their BIM business division that will create BIM models, BIM product models and provide data services to owners, contractors, architects and building product manufacturers.
